I think everyone knows music, in general, has seen better days. There are always the innovative artists that keep things fresh and interesting, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Nas, Elvis (timeless), anything Motown (again, timeless), but there has been a serious lack of other inspiring, amazing music. Things that make me feel like I’m back in Brooklyn, on a block party as a kid and feeling life! Then I heard “Rihanna’s Gun” by Cris Cab. The island feel brings back summers in Brooklyn! It is the definition of timeless. Cab has got enough musical talent for a lifetime. So, let’s make sure we get him to a point where he can keep making music for us, well, for a lifetime. A Reminder Of Happiness

This has been one of the most trying times of my life. I go in and out of losing the will to move on, to carry forward. But last night I had a dream that I wanted to live in these brand new apartments that were just built in Coney Island. No such apartments were built, but in my dream they were floor to ceiling windows and you had a view of the ocean and beach below and that feeling of the beach and summer was so prevalent in the dream, it reminded me of happiness. I am hoping that reminder becomes reality. Please share your stories with me and maybe we can help one another. What are you going through? How do you deal with it?

I know that I may be getting a little bit ahead of myself here, but we’ve already officially been in winter for over a month now. It’s about 55 degrees today! And it feels oddly like a Spring Day. I even hear some birds singing as I write this! I just can’t wait. Can you? What’s your favorite Spring Thing?
An Evening On The Beach

I took this photo in the summer of 2010 on a Brooklyn beach (AKA The Borough By The Sea). It is one of my favorite photos ever! My Mom and I spent the entire day on the beach, it was hot and amazing. We took the photo past 7, I believe, the tide had receded considerably, which made it seem that you could just walk into and keep walking forever into the ocean; and the evening had begun to spread out against the sky. The atmosphere was very relaxed and peaceful. I cherish this photo because it puts me right back in that place, in that mood and feeling. I can hear the ocean, the children playing, smell the saltwater and seaweed. Do you enjoy the beach as much as I do? Which beaches are your favorite? Winter Wonderland

In my part of the world (New York City) we had a lovely little snowfall that started Friday night and went on through to Saturday evening. If you’ve never seen New York in the winter, you should! It can be extremely beautiful. It is also my brother’s birthday today, so the snow seems extra special. I wanted to share that happiness with everyone and hope it reaches you all.
Please be grateful for the gifts and blessings you have been given in life. It is so very cold out there and we should always remember that “There, but for the grace of God, go I”. Any little bit can help those in need. Even a dollar given to the right charity or donating your old coats and winter clothes to a local house of worship or your preferred charitable organization.
